Melbourne is, in general, the area on the east side of the Chebogue River. The road you want is William Allen Road turning to the west off of the main road to Pinkneys Point. At the end of the road is a launch location. During clam season boats are often tied up here but you can still put in. Local people comment that you can get out through the channel on low tide.
On the #3 highway, where you turn south for Melbourne and other towns on this big peninsula, there is a convenience store. This is the only place to get supplies until you reach the main commercial strip on Starrs Road in Yarmouth, which is not far away.
