Dunhams Landing is a good high tide access point. At low tide it will be mud flats. From Dunhams Landing you can paddle up or down the Chebogue River. If you go up river at high tide, you can pass under the bridge at Arcadia and reach the head of the estuary. If you go down river you can take time to explore and have lunch or tent overnight at Crawleys or Perrys Islands. The mouth of the Chebogue River is home to many glacial drumlins that are now attractive oval shaped hills or ridges. Dunhams Landing has picnic tables, so you can enjoy your lunch here before leaving to paddle and explore the river.
