At Cripple Creek Wharf in Clam Point you will discover an interesting landmark. At one time there was a walkway across the canal that was high enough to let boats pass under. In later years as the boats were being built bigger and could no longer get under the walkway it was dismantled leaving only the two side structures. A similar bridge is still operational at Sandford Wharf, Yarmouth County. The only difference between the two is that Sandford has a drawbridge to let the fishing boats pass through.
